NOTE: It's no news that I'm behind on blogging. Baby Michael arrived in August and his newborn session is yet to come. But for now, enjoy his hospital newborn pictures. :)

After some patient waiting, baby Michael made his grand entrance into the world! I stopped by the hospital to grab some shots of baby Michael and the proud parents. Isn't he CUTE? :) Click HERE to view one of my favorites.

I just want to eat him up! And if you couldn't tell already... I love me some baby feet. I've known Tamara since middle school but since she moved away in high school, it's been years since I've seen her last. So imagine my utter glee when she said she'd be making her way down to good ol' Texas for a visit.

AND did I mention, she's expecting?!? There's one thing I love more than photographing maternity sessions and that's photographing a maternity session of one of my very good friends!

It was so great reconnecting and for both of us to meet the other's families. <3 I can't wait to meet baby L when she arrives! When I came across Red Thread Sessions, I was ecstatic. Not only does it pair two of my passions together -- adoption and photography -- but it gave me an opportunity to give back. So I signed up...and waited. And when my first inquiry came in, I could barely contain my excitement!

Here is what Angela shared with me about her journey towards adoption:

I have always wanted to adopt a baby for as long as I can remember. I have a long standing dream of having a multicultural home with kids that need a place to land. We did however want to try and have just one of our own. We dealt with infertility that did not come as a surprise to us, and did several procedures and one round of IVF before I said NO MORE. It felt wrong, it wasn't working, and I knew there was another plan for us. We stopped everything and went straight to adopting.

I tell people that it was not plan B, just in a different order than originally planned. I am a pediatric nurse and my husband is a social worker--we see lots of people and children that need a hand to hold and some stability. We wanted to be that family for someone and after one adoption fell through, we met Aven's birthmom after only waiting three months. We all quickly agreed on an open adoption and will try very hard to make sure that continues. We feel it will be the most healthy for Aven and so far things have been great with our contact. We plan on adopting from the foster system after Aven gets a little older to add to our family and hopefully get closer to my dream. :-)

It's no surprise that I absolutely hit it off with this sweet family. :) Robin and Angela are nothing short of amazing and Aven is officially the happiest baby I've ever met. Robin said it best when he sang "You Are My Sunshine" to her because her smile and personality really do just brighten up your spirits.

Their session reminded me of two things: 1) I truly love my job and 2) that adoption is beautiful. Family is beautiful. austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography austin adoption photographer - Toni Marie Photography

I first met Christina LAST September when she contacted me about a special birthday surprise for her boyfriend. So you can imagine my excitement when she called me about maternity photos! 1) I LOVE shooting maternity and 2) Christina has a great personality so I knew we'd have fun together!

She looked absolutely amazing and the Texas heat wasn't too hard on us so it made for a great session. Click HERE and HERE to see some of my absolute favorites from the evening. Like most women nearing the end of their pregnancy, Christina was patiently (or should I say, impatiently? ;) ) waiting for her little man to arrive. I remember I was practically counting down the days so I can totally relate!

Annesha contacted me this past spring about getting some pictures taken of her kiddos. Her husband was away doing some training with the Army and she wanted to surprise him with some new pictures of his favorite son and daughter. (Okay, his ONLY son and daughter. :) ) Sister was beginning to crawl and Brother had a new friend... a snail. Needless to say, I was glad to help!

When I saw that Rock the Shot wanted photos with "Something Orange," I knew just the photo!

This is from my sister-in-law's maternity session with her first daughter. We trekked out to a local park one wet morning to capture her growing belly (and excitement). I have so many favorites from this session, it was hard to choose just one to submit for the challenge. Can you believe this photo was taken only 10 days before baby Selah made her grand entrance? :) pflugerville maternity photographer - toni marie photography
